Elvira Hart Henley, 84 a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away, Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Granville Medical Center.
A native of Granville county, she was the widow of Herbert Lee Henley and the daughter of the late Marshall Herman Hart and Minnie Lee Briggs. Elvira was a member of Knott’s Grove Baptist Church and worked at Hall’s Drug Store for many years and last at Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in the Eakes Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Don Owen. Burial will be in Knott’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving are three sons, Danny Henley, Ricky Henley (Karen) and Tim Henley (Debbie) all of Oxford; two sisters, Becky Owen of Stem, Emma Woodlief of Tennessee; a brother, Joseph Hart of Butner; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Scott Hobgood.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening January 31, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home.
